B. Auditing of Earthing Systems

For existing projects:

Auditing of the existing old system and action there after.
Subject: Auditing , rectifying, replacing and provision of new earthing systems for tool room

“The scope of the auditing will be generally as under”

1. Physical inspection
2. Continuity of the earth
3. Ohmic value test for the earth pit
4. Test for voltage b/w neutral and earth
5. Supply voltage at the equipment /in general/or line voltage at the premises

“After the earthing pits are audited following actions will be taken”

1. The earthing pits will be classified in to three catagories
1. Acceptable
2. Not acceptable
3. Defective but repairable
4. Missing or new earthing required.
2. We shall issue certificate of test for the acceptable earthing pit found ok.
3. The reason for not accepting the earthing will be specified clearly as under:
1. Discontinuity at the level of the earth pit
2. Deterioration of the copper plate and earthing connecting strips
3. The age of the earth pit
4. Unusual ohmic values of the earth pit
4. The defective earthing will be identified and repair action will be taken as necessary.

“Need for new earthing will be justified and installed at the location after getting the instructions for new installation”
